What do I wear?

Dress as casually or as formally as you’d like.  You’ll see plenty of people in jeans and t-shirts, business casual, and maybe even a suit here and there.  Truth be told, you are probably way more concerned with what to wear than any of us are!     Back to top

When do you meet?

Study Groups (our Sunday school) are at 9:00am on Sundays.  The worship service starts at 10:00am and usually finishes up around 11:15am.     Back to top

Where is Collierville Bible Church?

We are located at 806 Wolf River Blvd in Collierville.  (Click here for directions from anywhere on the planet!)     Back to top

What do I do with my children when I get there?

One of our greeters will be happy to assist you!  We’d also encourage you to arrive 10-15 minutes early on your first visit, just so we can help you find where your family will be headed.

If you have an infant or toddler, your greeter will help you find the nursery (Sweetpeas) check-in desk where your baby will be welcomed, and where you’ll receive a silent pager for those “need mommy moments.”  There’s also a video feed from every room at the nursery check-in desk, so you can discretely check in to see how your children are doing.

If you have grade-school children, your greeter will show you where the Sprouts (K – 1st grade) and Clubhouse (2nd – 5th grade) classes meet.  Children in Sprouts and Clubhouse come to the worship center for singing at 10:00am and are then dismissed to their classes around 10:20am.

Teens join their moms and dads in the worship service for a full-fledged adult spiritual meal!     Back to top

What is the music like?

We worship with a live band playing a 3-5 song set of praise music.  The musical style is generally a blend of contemporary Christian music (much like you’d hear on K-Love or other CCM stations), with a few modernized hymns and other gems here and there – but always Christ-centered and God-glorifying!     Back to top

What are the sermons like?

Our sermons contain both elements of preaching and teaching with a Gospel focus. Most sermons are in a series format, and alternate between exposition through a book of the Bible or separate passages in context for topical series. Back to top

Do you offer communion?

Yes, of course!  We serve the Lord’s Supper and take communion corporately at least once a month, sometimes more!     Back to top

Do you pass around an offering plate?

No.  There is an offering chest as you enter the worship center where giving can be conducted as the Lord leads.  We believe that this holds best to what Jesus taught in Matthew 6:2-4.  There is also the ability to tithe and give online here.     Back to top

Will I be singled out or pointed to as a “Visitor”?

Nope.  I’m sure pretty much all of us have also been made to feel awkward when visiting a church – we know how it can be!  We will greet you and make you feel welcome in whatever way actually makes you feel most welcomed.  We are eager to get to know you, serve you, and grow with you, but you’ll also find that we are a laid back body of Believers who enjoy a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere just as much as you do!     Back to top

What denomination is Collierville Bible Church?

Collierville Bible Church is non-denominational.  Plain and simple!  We are a doctrinally conservative, independent, evangelical church.  (Note the lower-case “e.”  We are evangelical in that we proclaim the Gospel and believe it essential to do so – we are not part of the Evangelical denomination.)     Back to top

Will I be embarrassed if I’ve never memorized any verses, liturgy, songs, rituals, or other “church stuff”?

Nope, you have no reason to feel self-conscious about any of that at all. As a non-denominational church we have many different people from different denominational backgrounds who may have some verses, prayers, creeds, liturgy, etc memorized for worship.  At CBC we see lots of value in some of the things specific denominations do, and if we do observe something, we would make sure you have the information to follow along with everyone else in worship. Relax, and just let your heart peacefully praise Him in spirit and truth (John 4:24) Back to top

Are you guys on Facebook, Twitter, etc.?

Yep!  Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter!     Back to top

OK, c’mon guys… Is there ANYTHING else that I really should know before I visit CBC for the first time?

No!  We don’t do anything “weird” – we promise!  If anything, we think you’ll be surprised at just how relaxed you’ll feel once you settle in for a few minutes.  Collierville Bible Church is a place of worship, growth, healing, teaching, and truth.  We love because we were first loved by our Father – it all points to Him!

Please know that you’re coming to a church full of broken, sinful people.  We join together because we are united in clinging to the hope found in Jesus through the Gospel.  While we stand fervently on the truths of the Word, CBC has always been a collection of people who strive to display the truth and grace shown by Jesus as he walked among the sick and sinful people of His day.     Back to top
